SV & AUSTRIACARD a successful partnership for another five years!

AUSTRIACARD has been awarded – through an European wide tender procedure – with the contract for the new generation of the Austrian health cards and thus the successful partnership with ‘Main Association of Austrian Social Security Institutes’ is renewed for another 5 years.
Thanks to ongoing innovations, AUSTRIACARD was again able to convince with a technologically high-qualitative offer and meet the increasing demands of the ‘Main Association of Austrian Social Security Institutes’. Over the next few years, around 9.5 million new e-cards will be produced, personalized and delivered.

The new

The new e-card meets the very high security requirements of the Main Association of Austrian Social Security Institutes, which are reflected in the new design. Typographical security features such as UV inks, the combination of IR-visible and IR-invisible colors, iris printing, microtext and guilloche give the card body the necessary physical security against counterfeiting. The photograph of the insured person is laser engraved in the card body, so that even with heavy use no falsification or detachment of the image can occur.

The use of the new native operating system of AUSTRIACARD “ACOS-ID” guarantees that, in addition to the physical security of the card body, the cardholder will be also protected against counterfeiting or unauthorized use through increased electronic security.

Moreover, the possibility of contact-based and contactless use not only ensures the continuity of using the existing infrastructure, but also promises an interface for new areas of application.

Of course, the new e-card is produced with the same PVC-free materials as the present health card, which apart from the high environmental sustainability contributes in addition with its reduced weight to CO2 reduction during transport.

The first cards were delivered on 02.10.2019 and AUSTRIACARD is looking forward to another successful cooperation with the Main Association of Austrian Social Security Institutes.
